California Cheerleading Head Coach

Chelsea Toler (top)

Bio: Chelsea has over 20+ years experience as an athlete and working professional in the Cheer and Dance industry. Her athletic adventure began at just 5 years old when she joined her local pop warner cheerleading team, Fairfield Falcons. Through the years, Chelsea cheered competitively for 7 years and was co-captain of her high school team. Chelsea graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with her B.A. in International Affairs with a minor in Peace Studies in 2017. While attending college, she worked as an instructor for UCA for 3 years where she was a recipient of the Varsity All Star Apprenticeship. Chelsea has traveled across the country gaining 6 years experience working on the event production side for USASF competitions such The Cheerleading Worlds and Summit. Chelsea has coached and competed on World level teams and is excited to bring her cheerleading knowledge to UC Berkeley.

Among her many years devoted to her cheerleading career, Chelsea is a professionally trained dancer who choreographs and teaches styles of Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Pom. She has had the opportunity to teach and dance all around the world in places such as Russia, Ukraine, and Mexico. With Chapkis Dance Family, she has performed at Hip-Hop International and World of Dance. 

Chelsea spent a year with the Oakland Raiders on the entertainment staff and also worked as an instructor for Jamz Cheer and Dance. Currently, she is working on her Masters of Communications and Media at the Academy of Art University specializing in video production. As a Bay Area native, Chelsea is overflowed with excitement to join the Cal Spirit Team. Cal Cheer will be a team dedicated to collegiate excellence, school spirit, and team unity. I look forward to coaching talented individuals who are committed to their academic careers while being spirited ambassadors for the Cal Bears. Go Bears!
